Packing For A Day Out

I am an over-thinker and an over-packer. But I would much rather be safe than sorry when it comes to our diaper bag. Even if that means carrying a 20 pound bag because the moment you don't pack something...you need it.

I have a few categories that I separate everything by to help me keep track of it all.

Feeding
Diapering
Playing
Cleaning
Changing
Mommy&Daddy
Just in case

Now it depends on where we are going and what we are doing and for how long we will be gone for that will determine specifically what we will bring. For something like today where we will be gone for about 5 hours during the day (11 to 4) and will be doing some fun things on the boardwalk, I have a much smaller list.

Feeding:
Bib
Jar of food
Snacks
Water
Formula (enough for 3 bottles)
Juice
Bottles
Wash cloth
Food bowl
Baby silverware
Gallon sized zip lock bag for dirty bottles, bowls and silverware

Diapering:
6 diapers
Package of wipes
Diaper rash ointment
Baggies for dirty diapers
Changing pad

Playing:
Hard toys for teething
Cardboard book
iphone (don't you dare judge me)
Toys with some noise and lights (ie fake phone or remote)

Cleaning:
Disinfecting wipes
Anti-bacterial travel gel
Tissues

Changing:
Extra clothes for weather change or in case of an accident
Plastic bag for dirty clothes

Mommy & Daddy:
Phone chargers
Wallets
Hand sanitizer
Snacks and drinks
Small camera

Just In Case:
Sunscreen
Small lotion
Travel medicine and first aid kit
Blanket

I know this may seem like a lot but it all fits in an average sized diaper bag. Somethings we leave in the car when we have easy access to it. The rest we pile onto the stroller.

We may need a bigger stroller... ;)
